Diadem is the kind of brand serious UK tournament players know about even though it doesn't have the marketing reach of Selkirk or JOOLA. The Warrior is their flagship thermoformed carbon paddle - elongated shape, textured T700 carbon face, polypropylene honeycomb core - and at £170-210 UK street price it was one of the more interesting value picks at the tournament tier. One important update: the original Warrior is no longer sold in the UK - Diadem has moved the line on to the Warrior V2, which is the version UK buyers can order new (£189 at Pickleball World). What you're buying

The Warrior follows the 2025-2026 tournament paddle template: thermoformed carbon construction, textured T700 carbon face for spin grip, polypropylene honeycomb core at 14mm thickness, elongated 16.5-inch shape for reach and leverage. Stripped to fundamentals it's similar in construction to the JOOLA Perseus and Selkirk Power Air Invikta - the Warrior's USP is price, not technology.

Diadem's manufacturing partner is unusually tight on QC - paddles within the run weigh consistently, the face texture is uniform, and the edge guard adhesive holds up well. This isn't always true at the premium tier (Bullpadel Vertex line has had some QC issues in 2024-25); Diadem's track record is cleaner.

How does it play?

The play summary: spin-first tournament feel. Specifically:

  • Spin generation is the standout. The T700 carbon face has enough grit to hold the ball through topspin drives and slice resets - on par with Selkirk Power Air, slightly above JOOLA Perseus in our comparison.
  • Drives from the baseline are powerful but controlled. The 14mm core provides slightly more dwell time than thinner alternatives, which translates into more consistent shot placement.
  • Dinks and resets are good but the tight sweet spot means off-centre touch shots can be uneven. Tournament players adjust quickly; mid-tier players struggle for a month.
